Can I just say that the picture below is one of my favorite images ever!

What a perfect engagement session. The light was beyond words, and running around with Lauren and Leck was just totally chill. I love my job! When I asked them about the engagement shoot, Lauren told me that both liked being together outside. Leck even proposed in a garden at the plantation they are getting married. Totally my type of couple.

Did I mention that Leck is also a southerner. I am sorry, but I am going to say it…Virginia is not the south. I am from Georgia and Leck is from Alabama, we are both southerners. Doing this session outside on trails, totally laid back couple, with Leck’s southern accent, I felt like I was home. I loved it.

Can I just say I had the best time ever shooting this session! I am pretty much counting the days until Liz and TJ’s wedding. I want to let the video do the talking (or not), but check it out. I am so excited to be playing and experimenting with video this year. This one we had way too much fun with!

And yes, those steps below are in fact the same steps from the last scene of the exorcist. I will just say it was my first ever engagement session on the exorcist steps!

Carla that would be so fantastic if you and Nick went with Kristi! You two would love her like we do. Everything was just so relaxed and we all laughed a lot. She obviously knows how to "capture the moment" as well :)

I am kind of in love with the shot below! It may be one of my favorites ever!

March 26th 2011
Frederick Douglass Isaac Myers Maritime Museum

I want to start this post by saying, I love Nayoung! My photography attracts a very laid back bride, which I am very thankful for, but wow, Nayoung put them all to shame. She is the most laid back person I have ever met, and stayed that way through out her wedding day! She is just so nice and wonderful to be around, plus totally in love. It was the easiest wedding I have ever photographed! So a big thank you for being so cool! Even her wedding dress purchase was made out of giving choice, she basically rented the dress, and the money went towards a non-profit. Her shoes, were from a thrift store. Toward the end of the night, she came up to me and said, “I guess I should through my bouquet now” and then turned around and threw it, no big deal. Her and Matthew were just happy to be together and happy to have their family and friends there, the way I think a wedding should be. It was really beautiful.

A big thank you to Thu, my fabulous second shooter for coming all the way up from Atlanta to help me with this amazing wedding! Thu you rock my world!

It was amazing seeing my photo so large, as I walked down Times Square I got chills and was crazy excited! A big thank you to Kodak for featuring me in their Connect with the Pro’s ad. From Kodak “The compelling images are meant to inspire the millions of passerby in Time Square to consider using the services of professional photographers to capture their own important life events… The Times Square campaign is part of Kodak Professional’s on-going message, ‘Connect with Pro Quality,’ whereby consumers benefit greatly when they employ pro photographers…”.

Oh and when in New York watch out for snakes in the grocery store or dancing M&Ms. Don’t worry, no snakes in the video below, that was a completely different story and different trip.

There was a very special moment to me during Megan & Mark’s wedding. Right after we arrived to the reception we went outside for photos. They were away from all their guest and wedding festivities, it was just them in a field. Megan looked at Mark, her now husband and smiled while a tear ran down her cheek, it was her first tear of the day. Mark smiled back and caught it for her. It was a quiet moment amongst a big and lively wedding, but to me it spoke volumes. I felt very special that me and Chris were the only ones to see it. These two truly love and care for each other, and that joy was almost overwhelming.

Photographically these two had it right. They gave me plenty of time and told me, if the light get’s beautiful pull us out of our reception for more photos. During dinner the light turned perfect. I ran inside and told the bride, and she and Mark excused themselves. We got some of my favorite photos ever, I just love the bright orange that lite up the field. It was amazing! A big thank you for having us be a part of such a special day, and for giving us the time and opportunity to get beautiful pictures. Here are just a few of my many favorites.

Amazing! Thank you so much! That is my parents' 17.5 year old cat, Abby, in the one picture. She and her brother (who we lost earlier this year) were our first pets. Had to share that, it is kind of special that she walked where she did, when she did!
