Glen Echo Park
Maryland
So much fun! This was my first amusement park wedding, and it was just awesome! I think one of the most awesome parts of the wedding was shooting along side Michelle Lindsay, thank you so much for letting me assist you on such an amazing wedding! Michelle is such a perfectionist on getting her phenomenal wedding pictures, that it was such a gift to just watch her work. Even when things started going crazy (5 minutes of light to take all the family and couple pictures) Michelle was there shooting, smiling and laughing. I love that, I do just love hanging out with her! So thanks again! Make sure to have a look at Michelle’s blog and site, http://michellelindsayphotography.com/blog/.
Now on to the wedding. I am a little obsessed with Glen Echo (the venue). I just loved the neon lights, the carolsel, the outdoor pavilion all lined with fairy lights, and well, the whole atmosphere. It truly felt like a celebration of love, and the perfect venue for such a fun couple. The groom’s son was decked out with a custom made pirate tie. The first thing that the bride told me when we meet for the first time was that it was national “speak like a pirate day”. And I thought all those facebookers were just making that up! I knew right then that it was going to be a fun crowd.
I think one of my favorite moments was just before the bride walked down the aisle, I somehow ended up alone with her in a room called “the hall of mirrors”. She was smiling, laughing and trying her hardest not to cry all at the same time. Every once in a while I would see her look at how beautiful she looked in the mirror and that would make her smile, then cry. She wanted to make so small talk to keep the tears in, so she commented on my necklace. I felt very fortunate to see so much love, passion, excitement all in her eyes at the same time, it was purely beautiful. That was a very special moment for me, and I just love the picture below where you see the big empty room with 6:30 on the clock. It was time…
